In this football coaching course, as a student of the Master’s in Tactical Periodization, you will learn everything you need to know about this training methodology, famous thanks to coaches such as José Mourinho and André Villas Boas.
This type of training was created more than 30 years ago by the Portuguese professor Vítor Frade, and will allow us to train our playing style and create our idea and identity, developing it and expressing it on the field, whether it’s a more combinational or more direct game. Tactical periodization encompasses any type of game, and it is probably the most comprehensive and closest to the game, as it bases everything on training the «play,» or in other words, ensuring that not a single training session or task is decontextualized. In other words, every exercise will be focused on developing your playing style.
Coaches who use this methodology are undoubtedly the most recognizable in a match, as their teams have very clear ideas about every moment of the game or situation, not only collectively but also individually. Each player will know what to do at any given moment if you learn to use tactical periodization.
At the end of this course, you will not only learn the secrets of this methodology, but you will also know how to create your own game model, train it, and structure it weekly. And above all, your teams will know what they’re playing for on the field.
In addition, through our exercises and the final project, we will improve your analytical skills to lead training sessions, and you will be able to advise any club on the use of tactical periodization.
